Who Is Dr. Troy Fullerton?

Meet Dr. Troy

Dr. Troy is originally from Viola, Illinois, a small town just south of the Illinois Quad Cities. He became fascinated with Spanish while in grade school. One of his teachers was married to the local high school Spanish teacher, and regularly brought back slides from Mexico. He started learning Spanish in high school and later through interactions with Hispanics at church. By the time he started college, he was interpreting church services for Hispanic members of his congregation. His first foray into teaching ESL was tutoring Hmong refugees at the Y.W.C.A. in Moline, Illinois.

Dr. Troy holds a doctorate in education with an emphasis on English as a second language. In addition to Bilingual Barrier Busters, he teaches high school Spanish and is a translator...and STILL interprets religious services at church!

Dr. Troy is a specialist in language acquisition techniques and employs innovative, "brain-friendly" ways to grasp the challenging aspects of both Spanish and English.
